Curriculum

Our Curriculum:

All of our children take part in lessons and activities to promote good mental health.

Our approach to PHSE through the My Happy Mind scheme provides a unique, progressive and effective scheme of work, aiming to prepare children for life, helping them really know and value who they truly are and understand how they relate to other people in this ever-changing world.

We are proud to be a part of the myHappymind Family! As a whole school programme grounded in science and dedicated to building positive mental wellbeing, myHappymind helps children understand how their brains work and creates a culture that helps to build children's resilience, confidence, and self-esteem. myHappymind also teaches the children how to self-regulate and manage their emotions in stressful times, allowing them to be their very best selves!

We look at building resilience and critical thinking as well as children's emotional development.

Underpinning our Curriclum we also have a half termly "Happy Habit". These help us to teach through our vision and ethos. Our Happy Habits are taken from My Happy Mind but are devised to link with the Early Years Characteristics of Effective Learning and the KS1 PHSE curriculum.

Each classroom has a quiet space which children can access at any time. We have our Sensory Space which is a quiet space which can be used by children who need some quiet time or adults working with children.

We put high priority in outdoor learning and promote active play, problem solving and critical thinking.
