Each week we are hoping to go to the woods for part of the children's learning. This will be weather permitting and providing we have enough parent help. We will need 3 parent helpers on Tuesday at 1.15 to go do our learning in the woods.
Please let me know before the end of the day on Monday if you can help. Thank you.
Don't forget a waterproof coat and wellies which can be left at school on the class shoe rack.

The children have reading records.
Please make sure you are reading with your child regularly and record this in their reading record, this supports your child's progress noticeably. We encourage children to read 5x a week at home, if your child does this they will be entered into a weekly prize draw and if they do each week for the half term they receive a reading stars badge.
We send home book bag books which are pitched at the level that the children are currently reading so they should be able to read the majority of the book with little difficulty. This means more time can be spent on comprehension, as well as using the punctuation clues to read with expression.
If you re-read the books this will develop children's confidence, fluency and understanding. Please make sure that children have their books and reading record available in school everyday.
Some children have received word envelopes to help them learn tricky high frequency words which can't be sounded out.

Also please complete the 5 a day activity on Doodle maths. This is a quick activity to help understand what areas your child needs support in and will adapt according to their answers so please try to let your child complete this themselves so the results and future learning can be accurate.

Children will have homework set via Tapestry, this will include suggested activities linked to our topic alongside an DFE activity passport. Each term children's homework will be updated, these activities are linked to our classroom learning and the children are welcome to record their home learning and parents can share a photo of their work via Tapestry. Your child's log in details for Purple Mash, Amaven and Doodle Maths are in the front of their reading records.
